The reader sees a different side to Atticus in these two chapters. What is your opinion of him? Explain. Define courage. Do you think that Atticus shows courage when facing the mob? Would you have had the courage to do the same thing? Why or why not. Write about someone you know that has shown courage and give an example. Responses should be 10-15 sentences or more.
I think that Atticus is very wise and smart for someone in that time. I think that courage is when you overcome you're fear with bravery. And I also believe its when you stand up for what you believe in. And, yes, i think that Atticus had courage by facing the mob. Because it sounded at first that he was gonna get beat up and who wouldn't be nervous about that. And, yes, I think i would of also done the same thing and I wouldn't be sure if they were gonna fight. And another person that I also believe that has courage was MLK because he stood up for what he believed in.
ReplyDeleteI think that Atticus is very smart when it comes to dealing with rough situations like the one he faced. He might be a serious, old and calm man but he has a brain and thats what makes him smarter than most people. I think courage is when a person is able to stand up for thermselves not caring what other people think or say. There not scared to do something another person would not do. Atticus does show courage when it comes to the MOB he knew he could end up hurt but didnt care. He stood up for him self. However he was smart enough to know how to deal with them. Someone that has showed courage well theres alot of people that do it everyday. Like when it comes to someone bullying another kid. The abused kid is probably scared to say anything but the person that speaks out is brave enough , even though they could end up getting bullied too they stand up for what they think is right. In this case the right thing to do is say something about the kid who is being bullied so it can be stopped.
ReplyDeleteI think Atticus is a really smart and wise men and he is able to encounter any difficult situations and it is something that differentiates him form other people. I think he does have courage because of how he faced the mob. One example of courage is when someone is treating you with violence and you are brave enough to talk with someone and tell them whats happening so that they can help you stop the people from treating you like that.
ReplyDeleteI think that courage is when you stand up for someone or something. Standing up against even though u know there's two options you either win or you lose, courage is giving it a try even if you fail, is when you know you fell but you fell fighting. That's what i think courage is, giving it all you have even if it means losing everything. Atticus defenitly shows courage while facing the mob because he is protecting someone even though he knows he can't win against them. Maybe i would have done the same thing but i guess it depends on who am i protecting ,i say this because i am a scary cat but if it is about my family, friends etc. i guess i would do the same thing because what's the use if you lose what's more important to you, i don't want to lose what's important to me i will protect it with all my might. Someone i know that has shown courage would be my mom because she never gives up, whatever it is she dosen't give up. Through all she has gone through she had the courage to not give up, even if people bring her down she had the courage to go back up even if she knows that they will bring her down harder.
ReplyDeleteI think Atticus is a smart and wise man and knows how to handle difficult situations.It shows how smart he is when he is dealing with the mob.Courage is facing something even though you have fear. Atticus is showing this as he faces the mob.He stands up for himself.I would have done the same as Atticus because I believe that it is important to stand up for yourself and what you believe in no matter what.An example of someone with courage is a person getting bullied standing up for themselves by telling a grown up or talking to someone.If the bullied kid didn't have courage,they would remain silent and no one would know that the kid was getting bullied by people.This would result in the kid getting more bullied because they aren't standing up for themselves.Another example of courage is when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat.This is an example of courage because she stood up for herself and thought that it wasn't right to be treated unfairly because of her race. If she gave up her seat she would always be treated unequally because of her race which would mean that she didn't stand up for what she believed.I think everyone should stand up for what they believe in because that is part of courage.Courage is something that most people have in their lives everyday.
ReplyDeleteAtticus is a smart man.the fact the he stood up to the mob was brave of him.He could of gotten hurt.He didn't care if he got hurt.What mattered to him was that he was standing up for something that he thought was right.Courage for me is when some one is brave enough to do something that they thing is right even if other people against it.There is always someone in the world that has the courage to do something.in our every day life some one is standing up to something they belief in.
